Myth: "I have to avoid acidic & spicy foods forever to achieve smooth digestion."


Truth: Acidic & spicy foods (like citrus and tomatoes) may temporarily worsen your symptoms, but don’t actually cause digestive dysfunction.
When you work to soothe your digestive system and address the underlying factors contributing to these issues, you may find you’re better able to tolerate your ‘trigger foods,' or they may become less of an issue over time.

Myth: "If I change my diet to help my digestion, then I won't be able to have my favorite foods, and my diet will lack flavor & enjoyment."

Truth: Changing your diet to support your digestion doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor or variety. In fact, eating to support your gut can open the door to a whole new world of vibrant, nourishing meals that are full of flavor (as it did for me!). It’s not about restrictive eating – it’s about using the right ingredients, herbs, and spices that can help to not only support your gut, but make every meal a delicious experience. With the right tools, you can enjoy your favorite foods and still give your body what it needs to thrive!

Myth: "I already eat pretty healthy, so I don’t think altering my diet or lifestyle will help at all."


Truth: I said the exact same thing for years, until I took a closer look at my diet & lifestyle. Sure, my diet was “pretty healthy overall” - I ate some “junk food” here and there, but not really “that much”; I had a vegetable or two per day, plus maybe a little fruit….. my diet was pretty typical, I’d say - nothing unusually “bad” or unhealthy.


What I didn’t realize at the time though was how many other factors could be influencing my gut. To make real progress with your digestion, it’s important to focus on nourishing foods and practices that support your body. While removing foods from your diet can be helpful temporarily, what you add in is just as important - this is the part people often overlook.

MY NAME IS HANNAH

After nearly a decade of digestive challenges - stomach, burning, reflux, & indigestion - I took back control.

I struggled for years with persistent digestive troubles.

I couldn’t keep any food down, as everything I ate seemed to come back up.


It was frustrating, and honestly, a little embarrassing—especially when I was around other people, and my breath wasn’t exactly fresh.


For a while, I didn’t think that diet and lifestyle could really make a difference.


I remember one day, literally all I had after waking up was water and a small carrot, and just a few minutes later… it came right back up!


On a really tough day, I'd feel so nauseous, and the burning sensation in my tummy would keep me up for hours as I tried to sleep.

I would often think, “Do I really have to deal with this forever?”


One day, I stumbled across a book on nutrition & healthy eating that would forever change the way I view food, digestion, and the body.

My eyes were opened, and I began to implement all the things I had learned.

Not before long, my tummy felt so....

Calm.

Comfortable.

And…. I could eat my food without it all coming back up!

I still experienced some reflux, but it was significantly less.



I was amazed by how much progress I made with just a few simple changes.

As I continued to experiment with my diet & lifestyle, I saw even more progress.

Which food groups are included in the diet and meal plan?

In general, all food groups and macronutrients are included in the meal plan, in varying amounts: meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits, grains, dairy, eggs, oils, legumes, nuts, and honey; protein, fat, and carbs (& fiber).

The following foods are only included in small amounts in the meal plan: dairy, grains, legumes, nuts, and added sugar. I emphasize the importance of consuming high-quality sources of these foods in the course that are soothing & nourishing, and I provide a helpful guide for sourcing them.

Is the meal plan compatible with my diet?

Although I include all food groups and macronutrients in the meal plan (see above), and recommend consuming as wide of a variety of foods as possible, it can easily be adapted to fit several special diets. I include dairy, grains, legumes, nuts, and added sugars only in small amounts in the meal plan. This means that substitutions can easily be made in the meal plan if you're following one of these diets: dairy-free, gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, sugar-free, paleo.

For those on the following diets: pescetarian, vegetarian, vegan, or plant-based - Although the meal plan does include a fair amount of high-quality animal products (mostly meat, seafood, & eggs), it is certainly possible to substitute these foods for protein-rich, whole-food-based alternatives (e.g. tofu, beans, edamame, olive oil, etc.)

For those following low-carb, low-FODMAP, keto, or carnivore diets: The meal plan does include a fair amount of carbs and fiber from whole-food sources (but limits refined carbs & added sugars). As so, the plan could potentially be adapted if you are following a "lower" carb diet, and possibly if you're eating low-FODMAP. However, if you are doing keto or carnivore, this may or may not interfere with the plan.

Will I like all the recipes included in the meal plan?

I can't promise that you'll like every recipe in the meal plan...... but I'm confident you'll find several options to choose from that you'll truly enjoy, and will want to incorporate into your diet on a regular basis!
